Description
This is a compilation of bands who have played at my house, here in Elkhorn, WI. I originally put this together in an effort to spread the word about DIY in Elkhorn, but it ended up becoming a sweet compilation in general. Songs marked with a * are either new, recorded for this comp, alternate recordings, etc. and at the time only appear on this compilation. This is about 95 minutes of music. I can provide a digital download if you want one. Listen to it in your car.

Description
Empire! Empire! (i was a lonely estate) is an emo/indie band from Michigan. Very heartfelt, emotional songs with twinkly guitars and epic jams. This is the tape release of their upcoming album, and I'm really excited about it. The LP and CD versions are going to be released between Count Your Lucky Stars, strictly no capital letters, and Stiff Slack Records. E!E! consists of some of the nicest/coolest people I've ever met, and I'm really happy to be a part of this. Digital version available upon request.
*This song is not on the CD version, but is also on the Vinyl and Japanese version.
**This song is only on the tape version.

Description
Back when my label was first starting, Ilya saw that I was listening to his band on last.fm and decided to contact me and ask if I wanted to release something for his band in the US. After about a year of not getting anything released for them for various reasons (no internet in Siberia, art problems, me procrastinating, etc), we've finally worked out a release.
This tape is a collection of their first self titled album, two EPs (All Roads Lead Southeast and Secret Handshakes), and three bonus live tracks. All of which were never released here in the US.
There were 150 copies made (50 of three different colors) with artwork done by the wonderful Jeffery Ramirez (allinvisiblethings.com).

Description
This tape is a collection of Empire! Empire!'s early EPs (When The Sea Became A Giant and Year of the Rabbit), as well as the track from the 09 tour EP and a new track recorded for this tape. This was originally going to be released by a tape label from Mexico, but then the guy took everyone's preorder money (including mine), and disappeared. So here, a long while later, we finally have done a proper release of this and it turned out really great. All albums come with a digital download.

- Of Up and Coming Monarchs (originally by Pedro the Lion)
- You Ruined Everything That Was Ever Good
- Another Month, Another Season
Description
My second release from both Joie De Vivre and Sleep Bellum Sonno. The Sleep songs on this release are a bit less yelly than their last tracks, instead revisiting some of the more mellow/post-rock elements from their LP. The Joie tracks have a Pedro The Lion cover, and two songs from the very limited Tour EP. A bit more upbeat than the North End, but still pretty bummer. Good stuff.
Note: The Sleep Bellum Sonno songs on the tape are a different recording than the digital download. The two on the tape are exclusive to the tape itself. (digital download code included with tape)

Description
Your City/State was a band from Rockford, IL. This tape is a collection of everything they've ever done and somehow managed to record or play live. They liked drinking and listening to the Get Up Kids. A few of them went on to form Joie De Vivre. Chris French, when asked about his time with the band, told me "Sorry man, that band is dead to me." He misses them dearly and is glad this tape exists.

Description
Dude Japan is an indie pop band from Long Island, NY. Mike, the frontman, also runs Rok Lok Records and has been in many other long island bands over the years. This is the new full length, and Rok Lok is handling the CD release of it, whereas I'm handling the tape. Great art by Jonathan Kaplan. I messed up a form so the ink on the tape looks sort of silly. My bad.

This tape is a collection of everything not on their 2009 full length, Machinery Saints, and their split with mOck. It has their demo, three new songs, and two instrumental, untitled songs.

Description
Joie De Vivre broke up. Their final show was May 28th. This tape was made for that show. It has some acoustic tracks and some of their friends covering their songs. I am very sad to see them go. The show was crazy. I assume you are familiar with Joie, but if you aren't by now, they play bummer emo songs. On this tape they are all acoustic. The B-side has a wide variety of bands playing their songs. Most of them don't sound like Joie at all. I miss them already.

Description
For The Agenda is Anton. For The Agenda has released a few tapes already, all Anton's unique style of lofi indie/singersongwriter stuff. This release is his new full length, and I find myself having a hard time trying to describe it to you. Some acoustic, some stuff borderlining on electronic music, some post rock mixed in, emo, who knows what else. It's good. Anton plays in Monument and Shat Shorts, and used to be in bands like the Summer We Went West and Dawn Treader. The art on this tape is especially awesome. Include a full color insert with the lyrics. On the inside, it says that it is KIT-014, but it's actually KIT-019.

Description
YNTL is a scottish emo band. This tape is a collection of their first two EPs, a song from a split, and a live B-side. Twinkly guitars, bummer lyrics, really catchy tunes that get stuck in your head. I find these songs stuck in my head all the time, even if I haven't listened to them for a little bit. The tape plant originally messed up and sent me a bunch of tapes with double A side. If for some reason you would prefer a tape with a double A side instead of having a live side, let me know.

Description
The Whoopass Girls are an emo band from Montana. The recordings are rough and the songs are unpolished and messy. Very raw, very emo. They remind me a lot of 90s emo bands. Lyrics about girls and being sad and the like. This is a split release with sncl in the UK.

Emo/yelly/pop punk band from Rockford, IL. One of the guys from Bloom, Warren Franklin's brother Brian, and two other dudes. Some of the songs remind me of algernon, except more pop punky and more yelly. The occasional twiddle, gang vocals, etc. Songs about girls and friends and making out while listening to Joie De Vivre.

He usually plays acoustic, but this album is all recorded as a full band and is mostly electric. Fans of pretty much any sort of emo will be into this. Also, this album has an all star cast of guest vocals and tons of emo goodness. Get on it!
